Anne Dolan specialises in dealing with legal issues that arise for businesses in the travel industry.
Anne works exclusively with commercial and corporate clients in the travel industry including the Irish Travel Agents Association (the “ITAA”), a number of large Irish based tour operators and travel agents; a number of foreign tour operators, travel agents and cruise line companies that conduct business in Ireland.
Having started her career in the commercial department of A&L Goodbody, she then moved in- house, working as the legal advisor with the ITAA.
In 1999, Anne set up her own solicitor’s practice, to provide a practical and business focused travel law practice*.
The ITAA retains Anne as its Legal Adviser and she provides ITAA members with a dedicated legal information service.
Since 1997, Anne has participated in Legal Committee of the European Travel Agents Association (“ECTAA”), and was recently appointed Chair of the ECTAA Legal Committee, she has also served as a member of the ECTAA Board of Directors since 2011.
In 2020 Anne contributed a chapter to the EU Package Travel Directive 2302/2015 to the Collective Commentary about the New Package Travel Directive, ESHTE-Estoril Higher Institute for Tourism and Hostel Studies and the University of Salamanca, on the transposition of the PTD in Ireland.
In 2000 Anne was appointed as a member of the Advisory Board of the School of Law at the University of Limerick.
Anne is a speaker and panelist at various travel industry conferences and events. In October 2021 she delivered a presentation on the Impact of Brexit on Cross-Border Trading; Agency Law & Organiser Liabilities at the ITAA Annual Conference in Evora, Portugal. More recently, she was one of the speakers at a Panel Discussion on ‘Sustaining a Healthy Package Travel Market’, at the ECTAA Semi Annual Meeting in Brussels on the 10th of November, 2021. Anne spoke on behalf of ECTAA, setting out the ECTAA members’ priorities in any future revision of EU legislation.
